Vietnam Education Online (www.giaoduc.net.vn), the Embassy of Ireland in Hanoi, and Enterprise Ireland (the Organizing Committee) are pleased to launch the Competition

Ireland: The Country, People and Education on Vietnam Education Online

The purpose of the competition is to create an interesting challenge for students in Vietnam as well as abroad. The competition is open to all Vietnamese citizens aged 15 – 45, who are living, studying or working in Vietnam or abroad. The competition will be open for entries from 10 July to 10 October 2012.

The competition provides an opportunity for Vietnamese students to improve their knowledge about Ireland. The competition topic is open, allowing the entrant to write on any subject he/she chooses concerning Ireland. The Organizing Committee hopes to attract a large number of entrants with many creative and in-depth entries.

Vietnam Education Online is one of the most popular e-news services in Vietnam, with 3.5 million hits a day.

The Competition is administered by Vietnam Education Online and co-funded by the Embassy of Ireland, Hanoi and Enterprise Ireland.

Objective

-          To promote information about Ireland (country, people, culture…) to Vietnamese audience, especially youth and students.

-          To promote Irish education and tourism.

-          To create an opportunity for Vietnamese students inside and outside of Vietnam to gather more information about Ireland – a small country with a very impressive level of development. 

-          A good opportunity for Vietnamese students studying in Ireland to express their feelings about the country and education system by writings and photographs.

-          This contest will help to promote Ireland, bring Ireland closer to the Vietnamese youth and students … and can be a foundation for more thematic events organized by the Embassy such as cultural day, sport day, and education day in Vietnam.

Target group

 

-          Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in or outsize the country from 15 – 45 years old

-          There are expected to be about 500 entries submitted.

Eligibility and Conditions

 

 

 

-          Entries must be in Vietnamese, not exceeding 1,000 words

-          Entries must have personal information: name, contact.

-          Having photos attached is an advantage.

-          No limitation in numbers of entries per contestant.

-          Entries will be submitted to email address: truyenthong@giaoduc.net.vn or access to website http://giaoduc.net.vn for uploading into the sub-page opened exclusively for the Contest

Requirements

 

-          Copy of identification, passport.

-          Provision of personal details and contact details (name, date of birth, tel, email, address in social network (if any), e.g. Facebook, Google+, Zing...

-          The contestants bear responsibilities for the  copyrights of their writing. The organizers are not responsible for any conflict in copyrights and other relevant rights.

-          Winning entries and good entries will be posted on the sub-page “Understanding Ireland” in Vietnam Education Online for public voting.

-          Posted entries will not be paid.

-          Winning entires violating copyrights and other rights as stipulated by the laws will be rejected, and prizes will be withdrawn.

-          The Organizers have the rights to use entries or photos of contestants for commercial and non-commercial purposes and/or advertisement, communication; or issue regulations, and contracts with the contestants (if needed)

-          All entries should be addressed to: The  Organising Committee of the Contest “Ireland: The Country, People and Education’, Vietnam Education Online, 147 Mai Dich, Cau Giay, Hanoi.

Criteria for awards

 

-          Entries should focus on the following topics: Education, Culture, Food, Music, Literature, Sports. Favourite characters/people or favourite sceneries/landscapes…

-          100 entries will be shortlisted. Only entries which are selected for the final round will be posted on Vietnam Education Online http://giaoduc.net.vn

-          Entries will be marked and selected by a committee who also decides on prizes.
